Many Tsugaru-type kokeshi dolls are made with a technique called “built-in” made from a single tree, and the hairstyle is the kappa head, and the body pattern is said to be influenced by the Nebuta picture. Many of them also have peony flowers, the family crest of the Tsugaru Pass.
The foundation of Tsugaru-type kokeshi dolls was built by Hidetaro Mori, and was created with a new ingenuity and a new sensation, which is less restrictive than other kokeshi dolls.
